,

Congrats on your MGB! Here is a link to the post op list:

http://www.egroups.com/group/MGB-PostOp

http://www.egroups.com/group/MGB-PostOp> . You need to " join " , and then

Dr. Rutledge will approve you for " membership " in the group. It may also

help in one of your daily updates to him to request membership in the group.

That way, when he comes across your email address, he'll be able to add you

without consulting his records. Your email address is similar to your name,

so you shouldn't have any problem. It may take a day or two, just due to

his busy schedule.

Blessings!

Amy.

I am right there with you sista! 24 lbs the first month, not a drop since.

I am keeping optimistic, but have accepted that I am a slow loser and that

who knows, maybe I don't have a shot at the 200 lb weight loss I was hoping

for. Bottom line is there is nothing else I can do. This was the last

resort for me, so if THIS doesn't work, then I can truly say, I gave it my

best shot and there is nothing else left to do. I am enjoying the freedom

from the compulsivity, however.

Amy, I think you and le aught to get together. What did Dr. R.

do.... he gave you a tiny tummy and bypassed some intestine. Why? So

we would not eat as much and will not absorb as many calories. Did you

have this with your other diets? No. What is the success rate of this

procedure? What is the expected weight loss? You know all these

answers. So, why compare the past with the present. Can't... HUGS!

Zachary has 3 problems. He has congenital kidney problems, severe urinary

reflux (grade 6), and hypospadeus. He started with UTI's at 6 weeks, and

was hospitalized several times because of them. He has had numerous tests

and things, and had surgery in March to correct the hypospadeus. They

thought that the surgery would eliminate or at least limit the UTI's. He has

been on antibiotics since he was 6 weeks old.

He is now on Furadantin, but it makes him vomit every time. He did better

today at the noon dose, so I am hopeful his system is getting used to it.

He is the most precious little angel, and it is so difficult to see him in

pain. I have spent over $200.00 just in co-pays in the last two weeks!

You'd think they would cut me a break...

My address is 3026 Fenwick Road, Falls Church, VA 22042. I'll take any and

all prayers. Zachary is so precious to me. He has made me a better person,

and he's only 9 months old! He's doing great otherwise. He's crawling,

pulling up, babbling, and smiles most of the time. He IS an angel! :)

Thanks, Judi. I appreciate your love and support.

Amy.

Amy,

I'm praying for you and Zachary.....It's so hard to watch a little one

be sick. I also have a Zachary, he's my 2 1/2 year old grandson. He has a twin

brother named . They don't even look like brothers much less twins. Zachary

is olive complextion and brown hair and is fair skinned and red headed.

It won't be long and your Zachary will be bringing down the house just

like mine Zachary and do. Wow what a handful!!!!!!!!!!!

Lots Of Prayers,

Genz

Thanks Darlene! Why did they wait until he was 3? My oldest son had it

also (but not all the other problems) and had it repaired at 6 months. I'm

just curious...

My son was born with hypospadius also. He was about 3 when hh had his

correction. It was difficult to see him in pain and I still remember it.

He is

currently 21 years old. Prayers are with you all.

Amy,

I have no idea why they waited so long. His was a mild case and did not cause

any problems for him. I just did what they told me back then and that was when

they chose to do it. He was seen at s Hopkins by a urologist so I assumed

he knew best.

I'm sure they did know best! Maybe in the intervening 15 or so years,

they've changed their thinking. had no complications either, and his

was less severe than Zachary's, so I'm sure his surgery could have waited.

I'm glad they didn't wait though, because has no recollection

whatsoever. I'm sure at 3 that wouldn't be the same story!

Thanks for your support! :)

Amy.
