help with side effects of oxaliplatin

Hi,

I am a new member living in Istanbul , Turkey and am grateful to have

found this site where I have been lurking recently.

My sister in law Mehpare , age 36, is a stage 4 cancer patient with

liver mets diagnosed in February 05. She has had 6 weeks of 5fu and

radiation , after which she had surgery which included liver

resection , and removal of a part of her colon, rectum , gallbladder

and ovaries. She started adjuvant chemo on July 28 : Foxfoll , 5fu -

with avastine to follow next round.

Question: Any advice of how to cope with the nausea that has knocked

her down after the first round already ? She had an IV put in against

dehydration, as she has hardly been able to hold food down for the

past 2 days.
