Guest guest
I'm wondering about the timeing of getting a hair test after having amalgams removed. Is this going to be a false positive? I had 3 amalgams removed and replaced with composities on October 15th. I still have 8 remaining that I plan to have removed and replaced in 3 more sessions if my Dentist will do it. But I'm wondering if getting a hair test done about 3 weeks after having amalgams removed will interfere with test and give me a false positive? I just ordered the test but haven't recieved the kit yet. Do I need to wait and if so for how long? I also received a hair cut around that time so my hair is still pretty short in the area the suggest to get samples from. I want to get tested, but I want to do it right. Thanks, Mike

Is this going to be a false positive? False positives are extremely unlikely. False negatives are not uncommon. If a hair test shows a mercury problem right after amalgam removal, you also had the problem before removal and you will also have it several months from now. > I had 3 amalgams removed and replaced with composities on October > 15th. You need one inch of hair. Shouldn't take too long to get it to that length if it's not already. -- > Thanks, > Mike >
