Guest guest
My dentist in the UK told me that the age at which children grow and loose teeth is an indication of physical maturity - and that children who grow teeth early will probably lose milk teeth/ grow adult teeth earlier, DS1 certainly had his first teeth, and lost baby teeth/ grew adult teeth earlier than DS2. He also said that children who do this are more likely to enter puberty earlier too - aargh !! Debbie Slater Perth, WA
Guest guest
She cut those teeth at 4mo and had, IIRC, about 12 teeth > >by the time she was 12mo so does this make her a candidate for early > >tooth-loss? > > That's what the community dentists said to me - or rather the other > way round as DS1 was relatively late - over 10 months with the first > and they said that was good because his second teeth would be later > too<< Well my elder two cut their teeth at around 6 months but didn't lose a tooth until nearly 7 which is quite late. DS2 is nearly 6 now and no tooth loss (he also cut first tooth around 6 months). DS3 was earlier at 4 months so I will have to see what happens with him. It is so difficult trying to fish the box out from under the pillow, remove the tooth, replace with money and put back under pillow, all without waking said child up first. > DS2 has his first wobbly one at the moment so I am going to have to remember to > take the envelopes on holiday - is there a French tooth fairy giving French > money, or will the home fairy come and find him?<< We always work on the theory of a different tooth fairy for different areas. This explains why my kids get 50p but some of their friends get £1 (they obviously live in a richer tooth fairy area!) They have a friend that just gets 20p and they are all really glad they don't live there . So I would guess that if in France it would be a French tooth fairy, especially if he wanted to spend the money straight away (which my lot always do). Guest guest
> When in Wales we found that the tooth fairy was far more generous than in Jersey and give a welsh £1.00 coin! and if she is ever late its because her motorbike has broken down .. don't question the reasoning of a disappointed 5yo.<< Mine love it when the tooth fairy is late (she must be soooo busy with a lot of teeth that night) because it means they get double the next night (£1 instead of 50p). Sure helps me to remember! Lorraine Mum to 10, Natasha 8, 5, ph

Guest guest
Having had a chorus every week of " good morning Mitheth Lethley " from the Year 1 class I help out in, 5-6 is a pretty good average for losing the front ones ) Lesley ANT, tr BFC, Mother, Wife, Friend, Mender of Broken Hearts, Keeper of Secrets, Chauffeur, Cook, Maid, Writer. He finally twigged, long wool socks come in PAIRS! With tears in my eyes wishing I could tell her someone else had found a similar solution. She died suddenly, exactly a year ago, and I lost a very dear friend. She was always so full of life, the world seems a little duller without her :-( Sue Hutchinson, Mum to 30/01/98 and Isobel (HB) 23/02/
