Guest guest
Summer, I think I understand where some of the confusion comes from, and I'll try to explain. When we are talking about the adrenal sign, it is when calcium and magnesium go up (or down) together, and sodium and potassium go down (or up) together, so those pairs go in the opposite direction. As a shortcut in writing this, we may say that Ca/Mg is up, and Na/K is down. So we actually mean Ca *and* Mg are up, not the mathematical ratio of Ca divided by Mg, and the same for Na and K. We have all used this shorthand, and technically it's not correct or can be misleading, especially because at the bottom of the hair tests are *actual mathematical ratios* which we do also comment on and take into consideration. So if we say your Ca/Mg was low, and you might have blood sugar problems, then we are talking about the actual ratio at the bottom of the test. If we say your Ca/Mg was low as part of the adrenal sign, we actually mean both your Ca *and* Mg values are low. So yes, this can get confusing, and I think it explains your questions, and I don't believe that made any mistakes, because she does a wonderful job of interpreting hair tests, but her and the rest of us that use this shorthand for the adrenal sign that makes it looks like a ratio instead of an *and*, should maybe consider writing this differently in the future.
