New labs, question about diet change

Hi Group,

I saw my endo again yesterday and got my lab results back from

11/24. He only tested FT4 this time, but it's looking good!

FT4 0.94 range 0.75-2.00 ng/mL. That is down from 1.94 on 11/7 and

3.79 prior to that (all same scale/ranges).

He has cut my PTU dose in 1/2 again, so now I'm taking 50/25/25mg per

day. Additionally, I've now been weaned off the Atenolol (hopefully

) (weaned off over 2 weeks).

Even though he didn't test FT3 again, I'm pretty certain it has

dropped too. I can tell my metabolism is slower now and I've been

feeling pretty good overall. There have still been a few incidences

of increased heart rate, but they are fewer and farther between and

not near as high as they were.

My question is, since I'm moving towards hypo, should I now focus on

eating foods that stimulate my thyroid, or simply try to eat fewer

foods that suppress my thyroid's function? Along that same line, is

it still as important that I restrict iodine intake, or is it ok to

simply avoid excessive intake of it?

I get my bloodwork done again on 12/16 and then 1/27. He said that

if my FT4 continues to drop he'll start me on replacement hormones as

well. When that time comes, is synthroid what they usually use? Is

there another one that is better?

I'm glad I " m now off exercise restriction so I can start exercising

again...like taking my dog for walks!

Thanks in advance for all of your advice!
