Guest guest
You may want to consider finding an endo who subspecializes in reproductive issues. Probably you'll do just fine with the drs. you have. You will need much more frequent monitoring, and not just TSH - any dr. who will monitor you with TSH alone, particularly through pregnancy is one to avoid. I put Caroline's name in the header because she too had a baby within a year of thyroidectomy and she's so busy with her little ones now that she probably isn't too active here; I'm sure she'll chime in if she reads this though and will hopefully share her monitoring schedule. The most important thing is not to let any dr. let you go hypo at this time. Severe hypothyroidism during pregnancy is extremely dangerous for the baby. But here's the good news: HypoT due to surgery is easier to regulate than hypoT due to RAI. Enjoy the pregnancy and the relief that must accompany having had the surgery. I think that many of us in your shoes would have done the same.
