Guest guest
I saw the same program C4 I think. IIRC the mould was ergot - when it reaches critical mass (so to speak) it brings on hallucinations and eventually death and over the centuries has been responsible for all sorts of mass insane events. One theory for the Marie Celeste was that the crew had ergotisum (sp?) and threw themselves overboard. The mould develops in warm dampth which is one of the reasons farmers dry their grain. When I was a catering student I did a couple of major papers on 1) Jewish Food Lores and their reasons and 2) all forms of food poisoning - I was really pleased with that one Caroline Jersey > >> Well, no, it was definitely mold and mildew.
