The boys go to a fee-paying (catholic) school. But have to make the point that although it is fee paying the fees are not onerous (about 400 pounds per child per year). Their uniforms are a bit more old fashioned. Grey shorts, proper shirts, ties and blazers in winter, the same, but without the blazer, in summer. They have tracksuits and shorts etc. for sports - all very proper. Yes - the boys still wear shorts in secondary school. Wearing a hat is compulsory ( a sort of cord hat with an all around brim). Everything has the school logo on it. What I also like is that, on the days that they have sport, the boys go to school in their PE kit - so no lugging around a spare PE kit at school, and no changing at school with the attendant risk of losing ties, socks etc. Oh, and in the summer, they even have a school swimming kit - which are trunks and a shirt, known as a " rashie " . While paying for their schooling may not be expensive - the uniforms are :-) Debbie Slater Perth, WA
