Lots of mutual interests here

Caro (again!)|Were we twins in a previous life? Lots of questions,

lots of answers coming up! Sea-Monkeys are 2 years old now, although

I think we are on at least the third generation by now - the big ones

(about 5mm) seem to die off but are always replaced by trillions of

tiny dots. Every now and again I clean the water by carefully

pouring into an old jug and tipping out the sludge, and that's when

most of the babies appear too. They are great aren't they, DS just

loves them!

No, I only have DS (he's quite enough!) and he's also coping well in

a Private School, I just know he'd be lost in State Education and I

am very grateful that we can (just about) afford this considerable

luxury. Yes, you're quite right, I love art and craft (being a

Guider is wonderful) and it really helps DS too. He is fantastic at

arty things (apparently v common in dyslexic children), in his first

year at school he entered the Art Competition on a Dinosaur theme.

He made a papermache " Spike-a-saurus " and not only won his age group

(age 4) but also the overall School Trophy! Last year he entered

again, theme " Animals, real or imaginary " , again making a papermache

model, this time a frog with it's tongue sticking out catching a

fly..Yuk.. but very good. Second prize in his age group that time

and great hopes for this year's entry. The theme this time

is " Looking through something at something " and he's designed his

miniature Warhammer figures on a battleground with all the scenery

etc and encased it in a box painted with a giant on the outside

looking through the branches. It's simply breathtaking (I'm biased

of course), and we await the results with baited breath - watch this

space!

We recently visited Greenwich Maritime Museum as DH was staying at

the Naval College on a course - it's really good and well worth a

visit. (I'm sure we must be related...) No, he doesn't do ship

tapestries but he did a wonderful steam train as his very first

attempt - it's on our lounge wall, totally beautiful. He's doing one

of seabirds at the moment which arouses interest on board his ship -

they are amazed at his patience and the quality of his work.

YES YES YES! I'm completely hooked, I feel I've been here for ages

already.
