Guest guest
I always had great dogs as a child and young adult. Tabitha was my first cat. I made the mistake of saying to a friend that I might consider a cat if I knew it had never been outdoors, was litter box and scratching post trained by its mother. I soon had a free kitten and purchased $350 worth of supplies including a condo for her. She rode home with her claws dug into my shoulder as she seemed so scared. I have no idea if something had happened or it was just her nature but she quickly became a one person cat to the ultimate degree. She only ever let one other person hold and pet her in her life. If you stuck your hand down to pet her, she'd warn you. If you did it again, you lost it. But with me she was perfect. She would lay across my chest when I napped. She even knew fabrics and would check my shirt before crawling up to make sure her claws wouldn't be a problem. If I sat down she was in my lap. For 13 1/2 years she was with me and during that time I went through a lot. But she was the constant. Yes, I would talk to her about everything. I know she didn't understand the words, but I also know she knew when I was feeling down. She never played with toys when I was present because all she wanted was me. Now, when I was asleep or gone, she obviously had lots of fun as they ended up in far different places. Now, I've loved all my pets from the pomeranians growing up to Chrissy, the cat had when we met to Marli and Mandi, the two ragdolls we purchased and who are apparently taking a nap break at the moment so they can be ready to play again. Now, they are like two sisters, two kids. Very different personalities, very smart, very persistent. > > > > > > Thanks Peggy! I love you too.
