Jenni -

'twas words to the effect that our shepherd had got a new sheepdog -

some welsh type with the colouring of a doberman - only had him for

four weeks - only understands a whistle or welsh!!! Well, now

understands 'sit' in English ...

I wondered whether you might very kindly translate some doggy terms

for her! (shepherd's wife) As they are very kindly trading me a few

spinning fleeces for a fruit cake... not sure what I can offer you -

maybe some anglo saxon style tablet weaving or a mini quilt of some

description

down

off

stay

wait

leave

come

good boy

clever dog

drop

din dins (fodder)

leave the sheep!

sheep

lamb

Alright (OK) (to finish a command)

open your bowels here now please (paraphrase)

please have a pee now here

Not sure what other terms they use in shepherding ... or if I've

forgotten any obvious dog commands

Pliz could it have a pronounciation guide too ;-))) ?

thanks a million

hope you coping in this hot weather with your bump

Caro
