HELP,

can anyone quote me the consumer act for 'provision of services'. My

DH laid a patio for someone about 6 weeks ago, she swept the sand and

cement mix out from between the slabs, SO DH went back and did it

again.

She agreed that it was fine each time he left and paid the full

amount, So I would assume from that that she has accepted the

services.

BUT, last weekend, almost 6 weeks later! we had a heavy rain storm and

she phoned to say that a large puddle formed and that the pointing was

crumbing?! I would call this an 'act of God'. But don't actually

know where we stand.

The worrying thing is that DH did the job recommended by a neighbour.

Last year he also did another job for this neighbours different

friend, and we never got paid (£3000). I am worried that he may have

started the trouble each time. DH is very good at his job and has

many, many satisfied customers.

She phoned Saturday and we received a recorded delivery letter today,

stating all the consumer rights etc. I am really stressed about this

and have tooo much on my plate at the moment to deal with! Please if

you can, send some advice.

Thanks in advance
