Guest guest
Jan, Why only 7 days of antibiotics? Should be 10 days minimum and sometimes up to 14-30. I used to get bronchitis all the time when my dd was a small child and hands down the best supplement for lower respiratory infections is A, lots of it. Also, I use synthetic, water-soluble A for infections as your digestion can be faulty when you are sick and clo and fish oil require fat. We give the little one cod liver oil but to head off an infection we also use the synthetic acetate or palmitate A, sometimes as much as 50,000IU for a few days and it has saved us an antibiotic more times than I can count. For an adult, 100,000IU for a few days to a week are totally safe as infection suck up all the A from your system. Some adults need more. You probably know the symptoms of A overdose, dry lips, rash on the neck, but they use up to 400,000IU for just children for three days on the high dose A protocol, to give you an idea of the range. You can get away with less A if you are taking lecithin as lecithin increases the absorption of A. Also, consider adding something to boost up neutrophils as they are probably low. There is a file on A-M where Andy gives a lot of ideas about how to do this. OT: Recurring bronchitis? OK, heres the scenario: I have done 16 rounds dmsa/ala on Andy's protocol. Amalgam removal was 18 months ago. My last round was in October. Right after it (within days) I got sick and came down with laryngitis.. I had been feeling run down for the past month or so before this. I lost my voice for two days but was taking tons of antivirals and jacked up the vitamins. I got my voice back, but was left with a lower respiratory infection. That didn't go away, three weeks later and a bottle of cough syrup, tons of herbs, etc....I went to the doc. He said I had bronchitis. Which I haven't had in probably 18 years. I did 7 days of amoxicillan as he said. I also took probiotics in between amox doses to keep from destroying my gut with yeast. Anyway. Within a day or so, it began going away. I was symptom free for the past 12 days. Now it's back again. What I am on: adrenal cortex, pregnenolone, A, Zinc, C, Mag, Throat Coat (black licorice, echinacea, etc) Immuno Aid, probiotics, GSE,...hmmm, did I leave anything out? My CBC was normal and my neutrophils are fine. What is going on??? What can I do to finally get rid of this?
Guest guest
I thought that was odd too, but the prescription was for amox 3x a day for 7 days. I guess the new thinking is that 7 days is enough....guess not! I just starting popping A today, going to go that route, since obviously the antibiotics didn't really kill it. just suppressed it. I had been taking A but not nearly enough to deal with this. I had CBC done and neutrophils were normal range. But I got some astralagus I can down too. ( I got that file too...hee hee) Thanks! > > Jan, > > Why only 7 days of antibiotics? Should be 10 days minimum and sometimes up to 14-30. Guest guest
There are some cell-wall-deficient bacteria such as mycobacteria and chlamydia pneumoniae that are implicated in chronic bronchitis and asthma. Lots of info at www.asthmastory.com Hahn, the physician who's done a lot of work on this, uses a 12-week antibiotic protocol to deal with it. I'm generally not a big fan of heavy antibiotic use, but many chronic asthma patients have recovered and gotten their lives back with this protocol, so it's hard to argue with success. I'm not suggesting this is appropriate for you at this point - but it's knowledge worth having. Dean Re: Jan/was: OT: Recurring bronchitis?
