If he prescribed antibiotics, hopefully he has actual basis to

believe it is a bacterial infection, not viral?

If it is bacterial, then you might want to take arginine because

it helps the part of the immune system that fights bacteria.

Taking only antivirals would not do what you need for bacteria.

If the antibiotic helped, that seems consistent with it being a

bacterial issue.

Throat Coat doesn't have very much licorice. You might try a more

concentrated form of licorice (which is antibacterial and also

generally good for coughs).

Depending on your dose of probiotics, you might try more of it.

Maybe more GSE, too.

, Very good points. That would make sense, why the usual

antivirals I normally get rid of illness with have not seemed to help

this. I do take GSE but can take more...maybe it's not enough. I

always remember what Dana said about taking too much and it stirring

up bacteria.

I'm not sure what his " basis " is because all he did was listen to my

lungs, check my ears...but I had been ill for three weeks with it when

I saw him. I also had a slight fever at the time. I don't place a lot

of stock in this guy to begin with and usually only see him when I get

something like this that I can't rid myself of on my own. Ok..more

GSE, and A and whatever else! Thanks again

I don't think anybody mentioned this yet, but I think Elderberry is very good

for respiratory infections also. Actually, when I get sick now, I take

Echinacea, Astragulus, and Elderberry, all together, like 3-4 times a day, and

plenty of Vit C and zinc. I also take Olive Leaf Extract and Oil of Oregano,

and I was told that these two, and Berberis, are considered natural antibiotics.

So some more ideas of things to throw at it!----Jackie
