HELPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just about to either string myself up or my DS. I know it is not

really his fault. He has tonsillitis, and has a very inflamed throat

with ulcers. He won't drink anything but flat lemonade without

screaming in pain (even milk?). He won't eat anything but raisins,

and is refusing to take his medicine.

I have tried a spoon, a cup, a medicine dummy, a long medicine spoon

he can hold himself and every time we have had to resort to a syringe

forced into his mouth, with me administering and DH holding him

wrapped in a towel, so he can't fight. I hate it!!!! Besides that he

is still spitting most of it back out, so I feel like I am being cruel

and it is having no positive effect on his tonsils!

The Doctor has also told me to give him calpol and baby neurophen

alternately at 2 hour intervals, (which he won't take) and if he

doesn't take it he just screams in pain. But if I show him the

medicine in any form, he screams anyway! I have been going through

this all day long for the last 2 days and 2 more to go! DH gets home

1 hour before DS's bedtime so of course he doesn't think it is too

bad, and can't understand why I have been in tears for 2 days, let

alone having just had my first period in 6 months, for no apparent

reason!!! AHhhhhhh.

Sorry for the rant, but DH has just left me his dirty bath water and

I have a house full of c**p as I haven't had time to do any housework

for 2 days due to DS. I am also used to going out with DS every day

and am feeling like a caged rabbit!

How long do antibiotics take to work? (if he is keeping any down)

Can the doctor just give him an injection of them instead?

Desperate and worn out.
