Guest guest
, No solution, but I am glad you wrote about the pool problem. I will be bringing my daughter and grandchild with me and will also need similar accomodations. I have 1pm clinic and MGB on Friday. Guest guest
My mother and I stayed at Duke Towers, and were very happy with everything there. The rate for Dr. R's patients is $65 a night, no meals included, but hell, we can't eat anyway, LOL!!! The rooms are like mini apartments, you have a bedroom, bath, full kitchen, and living room, dining area. Everything was clean and looked nice. Duke Towers is about 2 miles down the road from the hospital. Oh, and they have a gorgeous pool, and laundry room. They even provide you with laundry detergent and fabric softener! Everything you could need (iron and board, microwave, dishwasher ever). Oh, and for those of you a little shy about putting on a bathing suit, there are lots of heavy people around the pool, because there's a diet spa across the street and all the people stay at Duke Towers. I must say I did feel a little like a cheater though, after talking to some of them about their 'regimen'.... LOL! Hope this helps in NJ MGB 6-1-

Guest guest
I stayed at the Fairfield in by Marriot in Durham. It was 49.00 nightly, has a great pool, an excellent continental breakfast, 6 minutes to the hospital, surrounded by stores and Eckerd, and it was clean and comfortable. I know everyone talks about Duke Towers, but I found the people hanging out on the corners and the apartments at night questionable and the outside is shabby. I also don't think there is personal there at night, but I'm not sure. Just my opinion. Best, Joanne In TN

Guest guest
Deb, I stayed at the Extended StayAmerica on Tower Rd., just across from the South Square Mall. Movie theatres, drugstores, shopping out the wahzoo! Near the Macaroni Grill, a Mexican restaurant...and right off one of the main highways. It was $239 a week for the kitchenette. I didn't have any difficulties and the folks who run it are very nice. I also used a local cab driver who was ALWAYS on time, courteous, reasonably priced...and a Christian family man. Let me know if you'd like his number. I used his taxi exclusively while there. He was very reliable. The Extended StayAmerica is just about 20 minutes from Durham Regional, no matter which highway you take...there are two which straddle the area that Tower Road is on. Look on (I think...memory's poor...) Highway 551/55??? I'd have to refer to my maps from the area to be more specific.
