Hi:

My labs results from 12/2/02 showed my TSH levels at 4.7 (normal range is

0.5 to 1.7, I believe). Previously at several months ago it was 4.5 and the

month before that one was 5.0. Clearly I showed to be quite hyper. It was

decided by my ND and myself that I would go ahead today and take a shot of

Pleo Mueck (sp.?) on each side of my neck at the thyroid to ease the hyper

symptoms I've been experiencing. Pleo Mueck is a homeopathic remedy used to

ease inflammation anywhere in the body. I tried researching it online last

week and didn't find much info on Pleo Mueck in used for hyperthyroidism.

I am to continue taking my Potassium Iodide drops, Bugleweed, and L Tyrosine

powder form until my hyper symptoms have subsided and then I will gradually

lower my doses on these supplements until I no longer need to take it.

My ND sounded optimistic that this will work for me. He's had several

patients 5+ patients?) who were hyperthyroid whom he used the shots of Pleo

Mueck to ease their hyper symptoms. Only for one man it did not work. I

don't what he did next for the patient to help ease his hyperthyroidism, I

didn't want to go out of my way to be nosy by asking so many questions.

However, as a patient, I guess I do have the right to know how alternative

therapies do work or don't work for patients before I go ahead and try

something that might not work for me or it will work for me without any

problems.

I had put off the shots at my neck area for such a long time (6 months at

least) because I was squeamish about the pain of the shots. However, my ND

used a numbing agent mixed with the Pleo Mueck so I hardly felt the shots at

my neck. I am so glad that it wasn't such a big deal after all. :-)
