Importing supplements (was Re: Alka Seltzer Gold - Where to get it)

Hi Inga,

Well, it is not so easy to buy Alka Selzter Gold from Spain. Amazon

does not ship supplements or similar stuff to Spain and most online

pharmacies or supplement shops will not sell their products to Spain too.

As for the European Union, this is quite bizarre. There is no problem

in shipping to UK, France, etc. but it is not possible to ship to

Greece, Italy or Spain!

As you know, European Union is a free trade market, i.e., without

customs barriers between countries and has a common policy for trading

with other countries. But EU countries does not have a common health

ministry and therefore criteria vary from one country to another.

In order to protect my health, my health minister does not allow me to

import products directly from the USA.

This is quite nonsensical, since if one would know of someone ready

to do it in, say, France or UK, it would be possible (and legal) to

send the products to UK and then from there to Spain without customs.

(Doing this would be interesting, because on the one hand there

are products only available in the USA and, on the other hand, prices

of supplements in Spain are so high that it is very worth to pay the

extra cost of shipping them from the USA.)

Anyway, I think I am very fortunate for having access to the

information and probably I will manage somehow. Today I have tried

licorice for the first time and the effect has been really superb!
