Guest guest
I am open for all comments on Hydrocortisone and thyroid T3. After a year of trying things like adrenal herbs, isocort, adrenal cortex, armour thyroid, etc...all with bad reations of much worsened depression and worsened fatigue, my doctor has finally turned up the volume and prescribed hydrocortisone and thyroid T3. All physical symptoms and labs confirm a reverse circadian rhythm, with below normal cortisol all day and above normal peaks around midnight. Thyroid TSH looked fair, T4 was high normal, T3 was low normal...something odd there. Should be more T3 happening with all that T4. Too much reverseT3 happening, probably to slow things down to the hypo-adrenals. TSH thinks everything is fine and dandy. Except for the severe underweight and unable to gain weight thing, I have hypothyroid symptoms of fatigue and depression mainly, and of course always cold and cold hands. My average body temperature is 97.8, fairly stable, with lows of 97.4 and peaks of 98.2 sometimes. So. 2.5mg HC twice a day to start. Along with 7.5mcg T3 bid. Doc says I need more health and strength before doing any more chelation. 8 rounds of DMSA behind me. I can confirm what others here have said, that chelation is indeed very taxing on the adrenals, and that weak adrenals make healing impossible and chelation almost impossible and everything else you try riddled with poor results. Side effects I might expect? Benefits I might expect? What could go wrong? What could go right? Just trying to get a feel from others what kind of territory I am venturing into. It has to be better than where I've been. Hopefully.
