On the subject of the grown-ups needing to use the kids' stuff -

howabout a related subject of not being able to do what you need to do

because you've got the kids with you - like getting stuck in a traffic

jam absolutely bursting for the loo but can't leave the kids in the

car to go to the loo - (solution = nappy)

or passing out on floor with the room swirling around you because of

ear infection and needing to help the child

falling down stairs and breaking your ankle and not being able to

raise someone so sending your five year old to phone the neighbours

yes darling, 8 - 7 - 5 - 0 no 0

etc...
