Guest guest
Hey All, I took the time to list all the labs that I have from the beginning and a definate pattern emerges. It looks as though, relative to my TSH, my T3 levels have been low for more than a year. In the meantime the T4 has been fairly high. I noticed a 232 TSI in march of 01 and the following month it is reported as negative. The most recent TSI 11/14 is 182. So I doubt that the negative was accurate. Of course half of the labs from the endo who nuked me twice (and then deserted) were not sent probably because he is trying to hide something. Along the way the TPO was positive and then negative. T3 uptakes, whenever done, were low. Its very difficult to assess all the stuff because the same tests were not always done. Kind of like compairing apples and oranges. Here is the scary thing and what I need to have advice on. Although I had RAI twice already (July 2000 and January 2001) and have had problems ever since, especially after the Toxic Shock episode in May of 2002, the latest endo ordered an ultrasound which I was told over the phone was " all right. " It wasn't. The Impression reads as follows: Small Multinodular thyroid gland. No dominant mass is seen. The report describes several " cysts " which are distributed over the remaining gland. Having had a partial thyroidectomy in 1974, it appears that the other lobes are now cystic. This is what was used to justify the RAI in the first place (when I was busy and stupid). Now I'm wondering if anything at all was accomplished by it except to make me sick. Does this indicate that I'm still going to need a thyroidectomy? Could this explain the intermittant hyper symptoms while I'm generally hypo and unable to convert T4 to T3? I'm so confused. And, I'll have to admit it, a bit worried. Thanks all, Laurel P.S. My deepest congrats to all the new potential mommies! Could we consider a page just for the babies? I know it would give me a great charge and each and every one of those little darlings are a sucess story. I applaud all you brave and blessed ladies. partial thyroidectomy 1974, RAIx2 2000, 20001, Toxic GO 2001, Diagnosed Graves 2001, Toxic Shock 2002. On synthroid and (finally) cytomel, still not ok.
