Guest guest
Walt..It's 2:34 p.m. and I've done nothing today except try to gather my records from local doctors/hospitals, so I can bring them all down to a new Pulmo-doc in St. (150 miles south of here)...I have eaten more Tums than anything else today...LOL...I can't believe the %#$*& they put one thru JUST to get copies to bring with to the new Doc...Anyway, I read your first " Rabbit in the woods " on my Digest and literally laughed out loud ( a much needed laugh, believe me)....so I thought I'd come to the Group site and Thank You for the much needed laugh....well, then I read the " Three Sisters " one and laughed even harder...You have lighten my day tremendously with your crazy little stories...Thank You - Thank You - Thank You !!...a million times THANK YOU !!...I have had Polymyositis since I was 36 y.o. (Dec. 1988)...It was a total and complete surprise/shock to me...I thought these doctors have to be nutzo...then I had congestive heart failure from the pred. in late Jan....then they tell me Interstitial lung disease in Aug...At the time I was only concerned with the PM becuz my CPK was at 17,000+ and it was suppose to be under 200...to shorten the story - three years later, they called it Pulmonary Fibrosis secondary to Polymyositis...I still didn't pay too much attention to the PF, becus it seemed to stay the same...I've been on and off Pred. and/or Imuran (for the PM) since 1988 up until Aug. 2007...I was off of everything - finally - YAY !!...Approx. Jan./Feb. 2008, my breatheing worsened dramatically - back on 125mg. Imuran and had to find another Pulmo-doc locally...He isn't real familiar with PF / PM, at all...SO I'm going to a new PulmoDoc that has 20+ years experience with ICTD on Monday June 1st...Don't really know what to ask him, but I'm bringing all my medical records/x-rays/scans/info/history with me and all of the knowledge I've aquired from here and I'll see what happens...I'm very very very nervous, tho...OK - OK, I'll quit yacking, but I had to let you know how much I appreciate your crazy little tid-bits...Thank you so much - they are a HOOT !!... Jacqui in MN (Going to go buy more Tums) > Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, " I will try again tomorrow.
