Guest guest
-, A couple of years ago I woke up and could not lift up out of bed due to my right shoulder. I had the most horrible pain in my shoulder blade. It remained this way for 2 months. My husband would massage it, which helped keep me off of pain killers. I had flexeril at the time and took them occassionaly but they dont seem to help me much. This was the worst flare I have had. -- In @y..., Sweet Katlin wrote: > > Hi everyone. Although I had a bad headache all day and of all day's for the kids to be wild. =-) Well, tomorrow they start back to school and all on the home front should be quiet during the day. All except for the 3 cats running around wrestling each other. I sense that Dusty (the only female) doesn't enjoy playing too much with Shash & Titus. She has a tude. .....anyway, I had a question for those of you who could answer this question....well, lately my right shoulder has been killing me. It is the same shoulder which was the inital trauma to my body that started the fibro. I was wondering if anyone else experianced something simular when a flare was coming on. I am unsure if it is a flare or if it was from lifting some boxes, but I lift my neice who is heavier than anyone of those boxes. So I don't know why the pain has been getting worse and didn't know if anyone would shed alittle light for me. I refuse to take the muscle relaxer that the dr. rx'd for me during the day because it knocks me out. I only take it when I am on the verge of pain levels over 10...this is at about a 8.5. Anyway, just a question I wanted to throw out there. Oh, my parents call the other day to let me know that the family dog of 16 years or 112 human years is gone. > =-( Poor puppy...But she was bad. I felt bad for her. Anyways, I'm off to bed. Take care and everyone have a good rest! > Huggz~ > > P.S. Guest guest
~ My should is hurting all the time. I told my husband that I thought about calling the doctor and see if he can do something for it. The last time I had this pain was when I first hurt it. Which was 2000. I received a shot of something, but I don't remember. I'm sure I could find out because my sister works in medical records at the hospital. I'm very frustrated with it. I haven't lifted anything over 10 lbs. and going back to the restrictions I had after the injury. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the reply. I'm heading to bed. I just got the kids tucked in and now it's time for me to be tucked in. =-)) Take care everyone and have a good weekend! Guest guest
You can also talk to someone at the clinic, see if they can make a call to the school. Josh gets what they call jumbo's, extra portions at lunch at no extra charge. All it took was a call from the nutritionist to the school and it was taken care of. He was never given any hassle or made to feel embarrassed about it. I was given a letter from the clinic in case they gave him a hard time but i've never had to use it. Guest guest
Vondie: We got that same letter a couple times. It was a school district policy to send a form letter whenever a child missed 9 days within a grading period. But both times, someone from my son's schools (once in grade school the other in high school) called to tell me to expect the letter in the mail but just disregard it because they knew why he'd been absent. I remember laughing and saying, " Then why send the letter? Save a stamp and paper! " But I was told it's school policy; they had to send the letter. If you know your child is going to be out at least a week or more due to illness, then inquire about home tutor. I think this is something every public school is legally required to do. They have to send a licensed teacher to your home (or hospital) so many hours a week to tutor so the student doesn't fall behind. Kim Mom to (23 with asthma and cf) and (20 asthma no cf) Schools. We are having fun with ours. (public) I got a note today, saying has missed 9 days and we need to fix the situation. Grrr. Lets see, a week out with mono, a broken toe. I wonder why he missed 9 days. I guess public schools are ok, but every once in awhile I want to strangle someone. I guess we will see what happens. You would think that the principal would know better than to get me going. She was the one refereeing(sp?) the old bat of a teacher & me last time. It wasn't really pretty. I was nice, but got my point across. And that incident didn't even have to do with cf. Well, I guess that is enough griping for now. Vondie

Guest guest
Hi Laci! My name is a and you have deffinately found a nice support group. These guys are great. Boy it sounds like you have had a great deal of health issues for such a young age! I have only got lupus and fibromyalgia and thyroid troubles. I am 35 and will be married 14 years next week. We have 8 full time kids and just recieved a new foster baby today so we have a busy house! Welcome to our group and just join right in, if you have questions, this is the place to ask them there are a lot of people here with a great deal of knowledge about lupus. a It is nice to find a group of people to talk to share experiences with and get a better understanding of lupus to help take better care of myself. I hope to get to know you all :)Your New Friend,Laci
