Guest guest
Hi Jen, I will let you know if I find out what these things on my hand are, but the rash on my face I have figured out. One of the docs at Bastyr took one look at it and said that due to the pattern and the fact that it was near my mouth that it was, according to chinese medicine theory, food allergy related. So I went through this long process of eliminating foods for 3 weeks or more, waiting for the rash to clear up, then adding foods back in one at a time and waiting to see which ones I had reactions to and which ones started up the eczema again. It was pretty obvious which foods did it - corn, citrus, peanuts, and chocolate were the worst. As long as I'm real strict about avoiding those " bad " foods the rash totally clears up, as do all my pimples. She also said that things like cortesone and creams for the eczema will just supress the reaction and drive it deeper into my body and possibly cause worse things to happen inside where no one can see what damage is being done until it's gone really far... that the eczema and pimples were the bodies way of eliminating the things it felt were toxic... and so creams were only supressing the reaction and not eliminating the problem. To eliminate the problem I've been taking some suplements that are supposed to help heal my intestines (where all the allergic problems are starting) and also I've started this thing called NAET which is an energy medicine that eliminates allergies. It's slow going and kind of a pain in the neck to do, but so far I am able to eat citrus agian with no problems at all. I can't wait to do corn and chocolate... Hope that makes sense...
