Hey all....

It's about midnite here....just returned from the hospital. After I sent

the update earlier today, Glenn called and was " gushing " blood. Still having

diarrhea. I told him to call an ambulance...he hemmed and hawed and " wasn't

bleeding anymore " it was after 4 p.m., I was at work in Baltimore City with no

car (car pool situation and not my week to drive), told him to lie down and

rest and if it happens again to call 911... then I called to see if she

was home early from work. She wasn't. The bleeding started again and Glenn

was still scared, he called my sis' cell phone...she then called me to see

what she should do.... asked her to call the ambulance and just go over to my

condo and just be with Glenn til they got there. ( to the rescue

again!!!) The ambulance w/n take him to St. Joe's so he's now at lin

Square.

I came home first to clean up the mess. I told him when I finally got

there that he was just trying all the hospitals in Harford and Baltimore County

and City to see which one had the best food or prettiest nurses!!! LOL He

was/is on oxygen b/c of the blood loss, his blood pressure goes way down after

several minutes of not being on IV fluids....right now they are calling him

a " lower GI Bleed " case... he's in the Immediate Care Unit receiving a couple

pints of blood right now. He's stabilized...but pretty miserable, scared

and ooooh so tired of all this " stuff " ..... they have a portable potty right

by his bed... ( " Immediate Care " is below " Intensive Care " , but higher than

" regular care " ...)

We've called his regular GI Specialist. at St. Joes, who wants him

transferred to St. Joes in the morning....makes sense to me.... stay tuned....

This still could be from the anti-biotics...but there are tons of other

possibiities too...my worst fear is something gone wrong in the colon (cancer)

or

more bleeding in the esophogeal veins....and I guess it could be something

to do with the pump, as well.....they won't really know until they scope

him...which GI Dr. will do at St. Joes sometime tomorrow.

Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle

Caregiver to Glenn
