> ----------I should probably join, I just kind of hate to though, because I

can't even

keep up with the mercury groups! Do they have a high volume?--------Jackie

No, I don't think the volume is very high. I mostly look for posts on case

studies, and for

that you can scan the archives too.

> -----------So their progesterone levels went up with only supplementing

iodine, they

weren't using any progesterone cream?-------Jackie

That is correct. No progesterone cream.

>

> ----------Ok, so they did see quite a variation in the amount of iodine

needed. So

they never tested iodine levels, they went by saliva tests and how they

felt?-------Jackie

Some people did do the loading test. I'm not sure it's worth it. Some people

react VERY

poorly to the test. It's too much iodine too soon, then nothing.

>

> ------------Yes, we have tested them twice so far, last time was in

November. I

started using progesterone cream after my first test a year ago, and my levels

did come

up, but still in the lower end of the normal range. Some of my other hormones

are still

low too. Did they mention iodine affecting any of the other hormone

levels?-----Jackie

I'm not aware of a connection as direct as iodine-progesterone-thyroid. I'd

have to hunt

the archives, and read more.

> ------------Yes, definitely keep us posted. So to be clear you are taking

iodine, but

you are not using progesterone and never have? Have you ever had your saliva

progesterone level tested before? It would be interesting to see the change,

when you do

this other test.---------Jackie

That's correct, taking iodine (~2 mg) and have never been on progesterone cream.

Lots of

typical perimenopausal estrogen dominance symptoms.

I had progesterone tested, but it was well over a year ago. Maybe 2 years.

the

Iodoral tablets, or what do they think about the Lugol's liquid?--------Jackie

Either is fine. It might be difficult to dose Lugol's accurately. What is

" one " drop? Iodoral

is much more convenient.

For titrating up slowly, I've been using a NOW product from iHerb. 225 mcg

iodine.
