Guest guest
I was wondering.. I know (obviously) that Ruthie is Jewish and I must admit that until last night I had kind of assumed that most of you would be COE (until I got to think about my friend who was raised a Methodist and dh was raised a Baptist) so this made me nosy/curious.. what religion are you all and do you go to church? I am a Lutheran Protestant (am what in Denmark is called " the Danish peoples church " - kind of eq to COE) I do occasionally go to church (the Danish church is in Regents park) and the girls are both christened there, the priest in the Danish church is lovely and I do enjoy taking time out to go up there (But it is 1 hour drive) after service there is a coffee table next door that around 12-30 turns into a Danish lunch that is great fun ;o) (and cheap) The girls will be raised in the Lutheran Protestant faith. I will have to say that whilst this is very like COE there ARE differences (dh says he finds the Danish church far more liberal than the COE is - his words not mine ) The Danish church run a Saturday school and I am hoping that the girls will get to go there when they are a little older (not a school as such more a place for Danish children to meet and speak Danish with each other) Only " problem " I ever have with being LP is that when I have a form filled in " for " me (like when you go into hospital etc.) they tick COE and I have to say I AM NOT COE.. not that there is anything wrong with this but I would not like a COE priest to attend me should they feel the need to call a priest I would want the Danish priest to do this, (that is really the only reason why I object LOL) Dh was raised a strict Baptist (church twice on Sundays and at least 2 church things during the week) his parents say grace before dinner and I am certain do a prayer before bedtime. Dh seriously rebelled against this in his late teenager years and today describes himself as a Aseatist (sp?) he is however ok about the kids being raised as LP so I don't think this is a accurate way to describe it.. Now please note I am NOT trying to open a can of worms here and definitely not trying to get people to defend their choice of religion I just often notice some of you mention your church group or having been to service and other stuff and it simply made me curious about what faith you all are ;o) Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already.
