Guest guest
Liane, I'm so behind in my emails--did anyone ever reply to your post on monolaurin? When you say your son has " latent strep " are you referring to consistently elevated strep titer levels? Are you familiar with PANDAS? And lastly--since I am inundating you with all these questions--what is monolaurin and where did you read of its effectiveness with strep? Thanks! Are you familiar with PANDAS Hi ! Basically, two of my children and I kept contracting strep repeatedly. would continue to remain symptom free. After the third round with the stuff, they tested 's titres and he did titre with Strep A, although he does not show symptoms. We went ahead and treated him, but we haven't redone the blood work to see if he's clear yet. Anyway, when I asked 's dr. about PANDAS (david looks very " tourette-sy), I basically got the standard response.... " huh? " I had read about a product called " lauricidin " that claims to show the ability to " bind " strep--monolaurin is the activie ingredient in lauricidin, and its also present in coconut milk/oils from what I understand. Its also very expensive imho, so I haven't tried it yet. I don't want to inundate with changes all at once. I prefer to take one at a time and see what it does for us. My entire goal is to " switch " off an overactive immune response (highly elevated NK cells). If his next labs show that the strep is still there, I'll have to consider something else, though. I don't know yet if the strep was a temporary issue or a more permanent one. Hope this helps! Liane
