You can find this is Texas. We have a certified EMT in the Panhandle

that is listed on the DPS site as a registered sex offender. I reported

it to our area contact. She checked and said the state level knew about

it and would not do anything about it. I was told that there are 8 or 9

registered sex offenders that have certifications in Texas.

 I believe it was looked at on a case by case basis...... I dont think an

organization (TDH, the EMS service the sex offender works for) would have such

a liability.

There are many cases when people are in there teens (17&18) and dating a

younger person, depending on the age difference this can actually be considered

illegal in some situations. The young couple might have agreed to be

together.... no harm done but the state/law doesn't agree, then someone is

convicted for being a sex offender.  So from that point forward the person will

be categorized as a sex offender for the rest of their life.
