Guest guest
I have a friend that is a Director in New Orleans. He needs half a dozen EMTs and Paramedics to supplement his staff for the Oil Spill cleanup. I already have 4 of my staff rotating through there now. If you are interested send me a resume and I will forward it to him. You will be dedicated to the site only leaving to transport a patients. Three meals a day are included as well as lodging on site. This is just like a Hurricane deployment. You will need to get to New Orleans to start your shift. You will need the following. National Registry Paramedic or EMT, current Texas Cert, ACLS and PALS if you are a medic and CPR, EVOC or CEVO. Need to be ready to deploy next week for 2 week minimum, 1 month would be great. Will be working 24 hour truck with bunking on site. 5 days on, and 2 days off of New Orleans style R&R(they only provide a room) then back on again. You can choose to work the whole 2 weeks straight. They are paying $19 a hour and you go to overtime when you hit 40 in a week. This is not a 1099 gig, all taxes are taken out. All the regular employment eligibility requirements apply, so if you can't get hired somewhere else you can't there. You will be standing by for possible injuries of the thousands of workers that are loading and unloading booms, etc. Fred Wilkins, EMS Administrator Matagorda County EMS Here are some things to consider; Training · ICS 100, 200, 700 · Hazmat Awareness Training · Current Active EMS Certification EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, LP Requirements · Commit to minimum 2 week deployment period · You will be restricted to deployment areas and bases with no free travel or off time · If showers are available you MUST shower every day · Work and sleep in harsh conditions with no climate control or showers · Limited to 1 piece of luggage not to exceed standard TSA carry on requirements · Pillow and sleeping blanket/bag · Cash for personal spending · Be self sufficient with personal needs; o Personal Prescribed Medications for entire deployment o Headache, sinus, allergy medications o Personal/sanitary needs for entire deployment § Toothbrush § Toothpaste § Razor § Shaving cream § Deodorant § Feminine hygiene products § Sunscreen § Bug spray § Shampoo § Soap § Waterless hand sanitizer o 7 days worth of clothing § Rain Gear § Underwear (male and female items) § Socks § Towel § Pants § 2 pairs of boots § Belt § Hat § Shower shoes (flip-flops - REQUIRED) Optional Items · Portable DVD Player/Laptop · Cell phone with chargers · Tobacco products for 2 weeks · IPOD · Baby wipes
