Guest guest
Dan, congratulations on your new place! As for the cat, it can take cats a while to acclimate after a move, and that's just when they have the move to contend with. When we moved here 7 - 8 years ago, our cat wouldn't come out from behind the couch for 4 days! He would sneak out at night to eat, managed to use the litter box unobserved, and didn't even come to bed with us - and that was just having to deal with a move, not with 2 new animals! Congrats on the new bed, too. After years on a bad mattress, a friend gave me some advice - you spend 1/3 of your life in bed, so if possible you really want your purchase to respect the time you spend in bed. We got a sleep number bed when my disability back pay came in last year. Although, when my MS and fibromyalgia are acting up, it doesn't really help that, but not a lot does. I hope your cat acclimates soon.Tina On Saturday I moved to my new place. I'm renting a room at a two-bedroom two-bath condo in Brisbane, California. Brisbane is directly south of San Francisco. Some wonderful friends helped me to move my things. And, I'd purchased a new bed set, which was delivered on Friday. (It's so nice to be sleeping on a new bed!) After moving, a brave friend helped me put Whisper in the cat carrier. And, I brought her to the new place. The two small dogs here are curious about Whisper but the feeling isn't mutual. So far she's staying in my bedroom. Hopefully they can eventually co-exist. Dan U dao_nguu@...

Guest guest
Yes, it's a blessing to have many friends willing to help out. I took them out to a late lunch afterward. And, once settled in, I plan to invite them over for some kind of housewarming. I don't think Whisper has moved off the bed at all today. The owner keeps his dogs in his bedroom at night. So, I'll leave my bedroom door open tonight and see if she ventures out during the night.Dan U dao_nguu@... Guest guest
Congrats Dan……glad you are all settled in a new place. Yes having a new bed can make a difference in sleeping well or not. I am hoping to get an adjustable bed soon. It has to have lots of padding though. But hopefully it will be better with helping me get up. I always kept my cats in their open carriers in the bathroom until they felt like they could venture out. I had their potty box, water and food in the room too. She has to be certain those dogs won’t be a threat. I don’t know how they are around cats, but maybe they can meet one at a time with her. Good luck with it all. Guest guest
Whisper stayed on the bed most of the day Sunday. But, by the evening she was moving around, eating & using the litter box. I left my bedroom door open last night in case she wanted to venture out into the living room while the dogs were in their master's bedroom. I don't know if she did. But, at 5:15 am she woke me up with her noises from eating, using her box, scrunching a grocery bag, etc. And, when I got up at 7:30, she went with me into the kitchen and explored. (The dogs were still asleep.) She was sitting at a dining room window when the homeowner took the dogs out for a walk. She stayed on the window ledge & stared at them as they went out. And, on their return, she scattered to my bedroom. I was exhausted on Sunday. But, I did get several boxes unpacked. I just had to take a lot of breaks & rest. I plan to get out today & go to the gym. I also need to buy groceries.Dan U dao_nguu@... To: MSersLife From: rubyjax@...Date: Mon, 5 Sep 2011 07:20:35 -0700Subject: RE: From Dan: Moved to new place. Guest guest
I add my congratulations and best wishes, Dan! I hope this will be a stable place for you, with no more moving. Moving is definitely the pits. I am so glad to read you have so many wonderful friends. Post pics when you can of the place. It may take Whisper awhile, but be patient, as I know you will be, and give her time to adjust.Blessings on your new home!hugs, KateFrom: xstitcher To: MSersLife Sent: Sunday, September 4, 2011 5:48 PMSubject: Re: From Dan: Moved to new place. ..Congrats on the new apt Dan.
