Guest guest
Hi, Jackie. That's interesting about your blood sugar spiking on your painful days. And I'm sorry about your leg. It seems like the parts of the body that we depend on, now that other parts go bad, seem to go out at the worst times. I hope they got good results with Christian's sleep study. I had my tonsils out in '82, back when it was normal for people with constant strep throat or tonsillitis to get it. After the surgery, my mom said it was the first time she'd seen the back of my throat for a year! I know with my boys when they were that age, sleeping in a strange place (not to mention with all the wires) one of either hubby or I would have to sleep in the bed with them (except at the grandparents - but at that time grandparents babysat them, so going to sleep over there was no big thing). Did Tina have to keep him awake all day with no naps? If she did, I can't imagine that went over well. My MS is acting up, too - I'm sure I'm having a flare, I'm just waiting on the doctor's office to call me back. My left arm is essentially useless for all the pain I get when I use it, and my hands are very weak....even my left leg is getting in on the act. The muscle spasms are bad enough that hubby and I went out today to get a mousepad for him. The place was in Clayton (I guess it took 45 minutes to get there) and since it was a computer store, and hubby is a geek, he decided to look around. We were supposed to pick up soda, cereal and milk on the way back, but I was having so many problems and I was so tired I begged him just to go straight home so I could go lay down. The fatigue has been terrible, too - I've been napping at least two hours every day, and spend at least some time stretched out on the sofa resting as well. I hope you arm and leg get better.Tina Hey everyone, whats up? Where are you? I’ve been here but I have a sore arm again so it makes it hard to type much when you only have the one arm to use. I’m still having ups and downs with my blood sugar, one day it measures near normal, the next day it spikes. I’m thinking when my pain levels are up it affects it by making it higher than it should. My MS has been acting up too. My good leg seems to be getting weaker. I just don’t know what to do if it quits on me like my right arm/hand did. I don’t think exercising it will help because when I just walk across the room and back its so painful in my quadriceps it takes a couple minutes before it stops hurting when I sit down. So it’s obvious to me using it irritates whatever is going on in there. Either nerve involvement, or the Dercums lumps growing and wreaking havoc with the muscles. Or both. The family is doing okay. My grandson [Christian] had a sleep study done last night to see if he needed to have his tonsils and adenoids out. I hope it went okay. He’s a little scared of anything different, and at 2, I can’t imagine having lots of wires attached to him wouldn’t be okay. I guess they have ways to make it work. I’m just not sure he will allow it. Heck Tina can’t even get him out of his Spiderman pj’s! lol… he’s very strong willed. So I am hoping they were able to get enough readings to qualify him to have the surgery because he has had congestion ever since he was a newborn, and now they are saying his tonsils are so big they are almost touching each other. His breathing problems in my opinion is what has been the source of his erratic sleeping problems. He can’t breathe so he wakes up all the time. He’s never been able to be on a sleep schedule. Poor Tina because she needs her 8 hrs sleep to be worth anything, and she hasn’t been able to have a full night’s sleep for over 2-1/2 years now. God forbid her husband help out. Anyhow that’s about it for me, I hope everyone else is doing okay now. Hugs and love, Jackie [NW Oregon]
