Oh, come on, neighbors!

So, our neighbors decide to cut a tree down that is on their side of the fence row.  We don't know why, it wasn't dead, like the last one they refused to cut down until we went to the City.  Not sure how old this tree was, but it wasn't HUGE.  While the guy hired to cut the tree down (truthfully, I think he was just some guy, because professionals leave a woodchipper there to chip the wood up) part of the tree he dropped in the neighbor's yard.  That's fine. Part of it, like the whole top of it, he drops in our yard, hitting the roof of our shed and back porch.  Now, when the neighbors had professionals take down the dead tree, nothing of it touched our property.  But this guy has half a freaking tree or more in our yard.  He backed his pick up truck and gathered what was in the neighbor's yard, and then he took off - so we are spending the night with this crap in our yard (although the dog thinks we built a fort for him, lol).  Hubby was mad enough when it hit the back porch roof, he called my father in law, who is our landlord - expecting him to to head over there and yell at the guy - except my father in law was on his way out for the evening.  So, bright and early tomorrow after he drops the kids off at school, hubby is paying a visit to the neighbor's landlord - who lives about catty-cornered from us.  Never once today did the neighbor say this tree is coming down, some might come into your yard, or can we drop some in your yard, or ANYTHING.  We have enough trouble with own yard without having half their tree in it.

Hubby says we're going to have to plant a tree close to there now anyway, it was shading the house.Tina

Tina we had a neighbors tree fall over our fence during a wind storm and onto the edge of our garage roof. Our home owners insurance took care of the damages. Hopefully your landlord has insurance and it will get it cleaned up for you. Ours was a real mess and spread out into a good portion of the back yard. We hired professional tree people and they cleaned, chipped, and chopped the bigger branches and stacked those for fire wood for us. The way the tree split in two they said was very dangerous for a lay person to take the rest down without hurting someone. I hope you get yours resolved soon. I don't where this " guy " was yesterday, but he showed up about 12:30 today - in OUR backyard, without even asking permission to enter.  Hubby went out and read him the riot act about the whole thing - dropping the stuff in our yard, being in the yard without permission, everything.  He threw everything back over the fence and is cutting it up in the neighbor's yard now.  Hubby says he's definitely not a professional, just some guy.  Probably because most professionals won't take down a healthy tree unless it's interfering with power lines or something.  And this tree was definitely healthy.  It's a shame they took it out.
