Guest guest
People do die from the complications of MS. Lack of mobility can cause a whole slew of problems, including DVTs. I haven't heard of anyone dying directly from MS, although at one stage I was terrified to sleep as I was numb up to my bust and thought I might stop breathing. And my snoring is definitely more of a problem now. Probably ran my adrenals flat at THAT time. High School Classmate with MS passed away Learned this morning that a school classmate (one year older) who had MS passed away Dec 1. The obituary doesn't give a specific cause of death but does say he had MS and that he had moved in with his sister last Spring due to his declining health. I didn't know him well and hadn't been in contact for decades. But, still, some sad news. Seems to be several people from my relatively small home town (pop. ~ 10,000 when I lived there) who have/had MS. Dan U dao_nguu@... .. Guest guest
I just did a quick search and came up with this from http://ezinearticles.com/?MS-Life-Expectancy---Does-MS-Affect-Life-Expectancy? & id=1904944Areas of particular concern are chest and bladder infections. As disability from Multiple Sclerosis increases so also does the risk from these type of infections. On average two thirds of people with MS die from these type of infections. Can it affect our breathng or ? I just thought it could be involved if the autoimmune theory is correct. And then we're more susceptible to other things. I've noticed several obits saving 'passed away due to ms' or 'a long battle with ms' and I don't understand. And then I remember the people who Kevorkian aided. Didn't some of them have ms? ... hugs,Cait High School Classmate with MS passed away Learned this morning that a school classmate (one year older) who had MS passed away Dec 1. Guest guest
A very good friend of mine with MS died young at age 36. She is the first person who told me she thought I had MS. The last time I saw she was suffering horribly from spasticity. Her legs were drawn up tight from the spasticity. had a baclofen pump in her back an a pain pump in her belly. said she was dying from MS but she also had Hepatitis C. I don't know what was her true cause of death.hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
That's kind of weird tho and asks the question why can't these people be treated with antibiotics as the rest of the population. I keep vacillating whether I believe ms is an autoimmune disorder or not. I do know or rather, knew 3 people, one of which was 's mother who had Parkinson's. All 3 developed sudden bad colds very quickly and passed away within a day or two. I'm mulling over Tom's article now. Btw thanks for sharing Tom. And it brings up the question of how many of us smoked or grew up in secondhand smokey environments? Guest guest
Looking around and saw a mention of kidney infections due to becoming antibiotic resistant. But the cause of death would be listed as the kidney whatever. Same thing with 's mother who had trouble swallowing with her Parkinson's. Her death certificate states pneumonia as the cause of death. I did see this and I think you all know Dr Oz gives me the willies: I saw Dr. Oz talking about MS yesterday and he said that most deaths caused by MS are lack of oxygen, breathing due to MS Hug and second was due to depression (suicide). http://www.dailystrength.org/c/Multiple_Sclerosis_MS/advice/7669249-how-does-someone-die I'm all for thinking about living rather than dying but I sure would like to know whether ms is really an autoimmune disorder or not ... hugs, Cait High School Classmate with MS passed away Learned this morning that a school classmate (one year older) who had MS passed away Dec 1. Guest guest
Several years ago "The Lancet" the British medical journal published a paper indicating MS was NOT an auto-immune disease but caused by allergins. It also stated best defense was nutrition, avoidence of food additives, chemicals, etc. Regards, Tom High School Classmate with MS passed away Learned this morning that a school classmate (one year older) who had MS passed away Dec 1.
