Guest guest
Well done and take it easy, y'hear. Take your time to recover and fight against the urge to feel great sooner than you should. This period is critical for your recovery. You really need to take it very carefully and thoughtfully. I got up on day 2, and by the end of day 3 had done at least 15 laps of the 6th floor at JRI. Didn't sleep a wink, and got crazy on night 3, and paced the halls on crutches from 2am til they finally let me free at 1pm on day 4. I should have taken more drugs and gone ahead and been drowsy, but it's hard for me to do that, so I fought it all the way. Anyway, it's day 4 and I'm home with all these people who love me!!! Guest guest
Strong work. Keep us posted as to how you are progressing with mobility, strength, range of motion, etc, etc,. How did you find the scene at JRI? Did you feel differently in regards to your hip after surgery? I will be in the same boat as the gentleman from Colorado. Doing the recovery after the first 10-14 days on my own. Sounds fun? I will writing alot on this site to keep me sane. Take care and good- luck. Guest guest
Hi Well glad to hear you are back home............ I know that feeling about being cooped up in hospitals......... I flew the coop too......... But do be careful about how much you think you can do as opposed to how much is wise to do.............. Remember it is hard to go back and take it easy............ and taking it easy is better to do now.............. them there bones need healing time............. Pass on regards to Steve............ and wish him all the best coping by himself......... some folks are brave......... Welcome home and keep us posted as to your progress. Jude I'm home!!!! Hi gang, I'm home, got cut the 15th and went AWOL a day early. Doin ok, kinda sore and dopey. He flew out a week early to give blood, and came and visited me for several hours every day. He's gonna do most of it on his own, with only 1 week of post-op help at home. Guest guest
Chris: Glad to hear you're o.k. & home! I'm not the expert, but I hear that pushing it gently is safe, but don't overdo it, especially in the first 6 weeks. Happy Recovery! It's all uphill from here! As for Steve in Co., I'm from Co. too, send him best wishes from Steamboat > Hi gang, > I'm home, got cut the 15th and went > AWOL a day early. Doin ok, kinda sore and dopey.
