Responsibilities include classroom and lab instruction for EMT Courses. Responsible for all student scheduling and activities within EMT program affiliates. Assist in maintaining program accreditation. Additional duties include recruiting, student counseling, advising, committee involvement, personal growth and development, community service, and miscellaneous assignments to the course and the Institute. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicate with department faculty concerning the needs of the EMS programs. Advise and counsel students. Assist in the development of schedules for each semester. Perform clinical orientation for all EMT classes. Maintain program records. Organize student shot records, criminal background documents, physical exams, and student clinical documentation. Organize dates and time frames of clinical rotations with clinical and ambulance affiliates. Collect individual schedules requests from students to fit the agreed time frame from our affiliates. Organize program clinical preceptor sites. Monitor all clinical requirements. Instruct CPR courses and maintain American Heart Association records on training, distribution of certification cards. Promote and teach noncredit courses. Participate in appropriate professional and community service associations. Participate in college and department committees. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Possess good verbal and written communication skills * Possess good time management skills * Maintain ethical and professional behavior * Aware of local, state and national issues and trends * Possess basic skills in Microsoft Office applications * Participate in the recruitment of students for the program, the department, and the Institute PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to provide instruction in classrooms and clinical facilities and evaluate instructors/preceptors/students assigned to each. Be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally to staff, community professionals, and students. Minimum Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must have: 1. A minimum of an Associate of Applied Science degree in Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic or equivalent. 2. An EMT-Paramedic license, issued by the State of Texas. 3. Must be currently certified as an American Heart Association CPR Instructor. 4. Have a valid driver's license and must be insurable to drive a State vehicle. Preferred Qualifications: Applicant preferred experience: 6. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a field training officer for an 911 EMS agency. 7. Prior EMT Advanced instructor experience.
