Yup, it's quick. If you are lucky it's actually so quick you don't get hurt (or not as much as you would have otherwise, at least), because you don't have time to tense up, you land softly (or "softlier"). The first time I fell, due to the ice, was on wooden steps. That hurt! The second time I fell was when I was determined to walk to the outhouse (when living in primitive Alaska). I was in that "determined" independent mode so the fall was very maddening to me. I was so angry that I wouldn't let anyone help me up. lolhugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. My " first " snow and ice fall, I probably can't contribute to MS, or even the fibromyalgia that I was being treated for.  Hubby hadn't cleaned off the steps and porch out front, or did a very poor job of it, I was leaving for work, and slipped on the edge of the porch, and basically rode the steps down on my back!  I basically crawled back to the door, I obviously missed work.  The next day when I went to PT, my therapist said the middle of my back was black and blue.  You'd better believe hubby cleaned off the steps better after that!  But not as well as he has the last year, since my balance has gone wonky.

Last year, my slip was right at the car - the wheel tracks had iced over, and as I getting into the car, I slipped.  Knocked my leg on the car during the fall, too.  After that, hubby would stabilize me while I was getting into the car, as we had a lot of snow last winter (well, a lot of snow for us).
