No, it is more like trying to cross your legs while they are on fire, the heat is sometimes so intense I cen't have any part if my skin touch any part of my skin, it feels like it is burning, literally

I hate the heat too!! Between the heat and then my hormones don't help either...grrrrrr:) But figuring you guys understand huh?

I myself hate the skin to skin connecting. My ceiling fans are set on high. I also have found taking Benedryl 50 mgs. I take tylenol PM hard to explain but it seems to help me some. I take neurontin for the heat/tingling but if I take to much I can't function.

I've also stopped the wine and drink tons of water. I thought I'd be peeing like crazy but I guess my body needs the water.

Long story short cuz I just confused myself but try the benedryl 50 mgs at bedtime. Works for me I'd like to see it helps others like it does for me.

Is it only when you sleep/at night, and only when skin touches skin? That does sound a bit odd (not that nerves aren't known to do weird stuff...). But I do know had one exacerbation where her main symptom was that touch/pressure (of any kind, especially the pressure of chair or bed when she sat down or lay down) was "registered" as heat on the left half her body (ie. she didn't feel the pressure of the chair etc, when she sat down it felt like, to her, as if her right side sat down on a chair, but her left side felt like it was burning hot, without actually being hot). Weird. Do you know if the skin actually is hot, or if it "just" feels that way? Hard to know if the whole body is affected, of course, but I am guessing that would be the difference between nerves playing tricks (fooling you to feel heat that are not actually there) and something to do with the body thermostat. I suppose you should see, or at least call, someone about it. Do you have a regular doctor (not necessarily neuro)? Or is there any good medical telephone service (where you can call with medical questions) in your area?love/Reb

Hormonal is also possible, remember I squeaked Robbin out and slammed the door, then 8-9 years later bled for a year and 1/2 (the time Robbin was with his father) and stopped within a month of him coning home. Nothing since. So it is possible my hormones are totally messed up...

Don’t be so quick to wish for that, my hubby is going thru “andropauseâ€, yup there is such a thing. Google it! J he has hot flashes too. And other hormonal fluctuations. My Dr. said she has a patient that is in her 70’s and still going thru menopause. I’m 61 now [EGADS!!!], and I think things are starting to calm down. I still have PMS type of symptoms like my friend is going to visit, but so far she stays away. Whew! Oh I believe it Jackie. I'm 62 and had to have a hysterectomy at 36. My ovaries were left but I never knew when I really went through meno. I think it was when I used the patch to quit smoking except I blamed the yuckies on that. Then 3 separate times, doctors put me on premarin because my hormones were out of whack and it would keep my bones stronger. Each time I quit and I have for good now, I'd get all the meno symptoms back.

My mother was still menstruating at 69, the year that she died.

I think it is something to do with MS - I get the chills and go dead asleep then wake up later burning up
