Hi ,

I can only feel for you with one only a tiny bit older............... I

would dread something unusual turning up...........

My only comment would be to think back on anything you may have done the day

the before that could have set it off in some way............ I have never

lost a degree of pain and tightness all around my new hip because of the pre

situation which at least saves me from doing a panic............ but if you

were getting along doing lots without any sign of trouble and didn't do

anything unusual, I would think this would be very worrysome.........

Aching, if occuring deep in the bone area, especially...........

Do you have any physio or other health professionals that you could quickly

contact to have them check out the muscles?? They may be able to quickly

determine if it could be attributed to muscular issues...........which may

or may not increase your worry level............

--i think the location of pain is important . if its in the

inside groin area, that suggests it could be joint related.

on the outside hip or in the gluteus area , maybe the pain is more

muscular in nature, or bursitis possibly .

,

I would take an x-ray and a blood test either at the JRI or somewhere else and

submit it for Dr. De Smet's opinion. To expedite your reponse from Dr De Smet,

scan the x-rays using a regular scanner. Remove the top of your scanner, turn on

all lights in the room and start shooting. Save it as JPEGs and send it

via-e-mail.

I personally would look for two opinions. There are people in this site that

found OS here in the U.S. willing to do the follow-ups just for the sake of

learning from it. I am sure somebody will give you the details in your area. I

am in Florida and both doctors I've seen were willing to do the follow-up. And I

thought it would be hard to find an OS willing to do so.

If you decide to go back to Belgium, Iberia has a special for $561+ tax (Florida

to Brussels). You've got to buy on line and I believe this promotion ends

sometime between 21-24 June.

Let us know about the outcomes.

Mark,

Thanks for your reply. The pain just sort of came on-- I cannot

connect it to anything that happened. I haven't done any impact

activities. It's kind of an intermittent ache more than a pain.

No, I don't have any OS here doing follow-up. The JRI is nearby, but

I'm hesitant to start with a new OS.

been through impact activities of any kind? Do you have any OS here

at home doing your follow-ups?

Also, if you're going to contact anyone at JRI, I would make it

Amstutz since he and De Smet apparently have a working relationship.
