-- Granddaughter's 3-day Bat Mitzvah celebration

So, the actual Bat Mitzvah ritual occurred for the KID today, accompanied by the ritual comments from relatives and family. Her elder sister by 4.5 years commented that an African legendsuggests that if the young are not properly led into adulthood, theymight just "burn the village down!"This brought the whole congregation to wild laughter, followed by a few groans from the parents of adolescents. So, we had the family gathering of 30+ last evening, the usualShabbat (sabbath) services and the Bat Mitzvah ceremony today,a large dinner at the synagogue social hall (Jews DO eat!) thisevening, and a wild brunch for all still standing tomorrow morningat a local restaurant--provided that we all manage to set our clocksback by one hour!So fat so good, and yes, I am stuffed!Love to you all,n
