I presumed that any excess enzymes would just be excreted. <Was it just behavioral reactions?> Yes < Did he get diarrhea or anything?> No, but was restless and irritable and tired. < What exactly are wheatbix? > About 6 inch by 2 inch Rectangles of closely packed " 97% whole grain pure Australian wheat, with malt and added vitamins " Yes, a cereal and a very wheaty one! 3 was a pretty substantial serving! He was sooo thrilled to be having weetbix again, shortlived though it was! I would like to try this again with smaller servings but think we should wait for the longer school hols at Christmas when he has plenty of time to recover. It was awful to see him seemingly losing his skills before our eyes. Thank goodness he is improving again! <is he reactive to phenols?> I now suspect he is more sensitive to phenol than I was aware and I am still learning which foods contain them (thanks Dana for your info page) <Could it be a combination of typical regression seen when starting enzymes along with him reacting to the chocolate?> Because he was already GFCF and has already been on the enzymes for 6 weeks and has what appeared to be a slight reaction I think it was past the initial reaction phase. I think the choc may have contributed so am now giving No -fenol if he eats choc foods and watching for red ears etc. He had extra helpings of spaghetti sauce with tomato paste last night and I noticed he had red ears and a red stripe down the middle of his nose!! After a No-fenol the colour began to fade noticeably so I have to learn more about the phenols. I am also giving him an extra No-fenol between meals at home to address any yeast that may be around. On a new thread, he is about to have braces removed from his teeth and I would like to have a metal toxicity test done with a view to chelating. Any n members with any experience of practitioners here? The dentist intends to place a permanent stabilising wire behind his lower teeth but now I am concerned about continuing metal susceptibility. Does anyone know if stainless steel is a toxic substance for our kids? I am hoping the orthodontist will be able to substitute a synthetic but don't know yet. There is so much to be aware of, isn't there! <certainly things like gfcf hotdogs would blend right in!> He hates the GFCF bread I bake and the bought stuff is heavy as lead! What else can you wrap a hotdog in?!! Thanks for your interest and encouragement, , Cheers Fran

I presumed that any excess enzymes would just be excreted. <Was it just behavioral reactions?>Yes < Did he get diarrhea or anything?>No, but was restless and irritable and tired. In regards to this part of the conversation, the breakdown of all the wheat would release more amino acids into the system. So the Peptizyde may have been working really well, but your son experience an " amino acid rush " . High protein diets or high protein meals of any type do the same thing - the after-effect can cause jitters, hyperness, agitation, etc. So if you eat a high protein lunch, this will give you are surge of energy in the afternoon (which some people want). If you eat a high carb lunch, you tend to get drowsy in the afternoon and what a nap or a candy bar as a " pick me up. " This is what I expect based on seeing those particular behavioral reactions and not diarrhea - just alot of amino acids hitting at once. (Notice that the same thing can happen with No-Fenol or with tyrosine and other amino acid supplementation!) .
Guest guest
Fran, Have you ever checked out Kinnikinnick foods? If not go to kinnikinnick.com because they have the best gfcf breads/rolls/bagels/donuts. Their hotdog rolls are the best gfcf out there in my opinion. My daughter hated gfcf breads/rolls boughten as well as made, too. She liked their stuff though. The chocolate glazed donuts(all chocolate dipped in a sugar glazing) are amazing-although so is the price, of course. My daughter loves bagels and theirs were also the closest to " real " I ever found. She was so excited when she tried them. Their white bread was very good-looked like " normal " and was especially good in a grilled cheese sandwich. Another idea with the hotdog-does he like corn tortillas? Sometimes my husband likes hotdogs wrapped in these with salsa. It sounds like you saw a classic phenolic reaction with the red ears/nose!! Maybe No Fenol will give you some great results!! My daughter never showed the redness but she would get very hyper and out of control emotionally for days if she had a phenolic infraction (before No Fenol.) Sorry but I'm no help on the metals stuff. I know fillings are bad but I'm not sure about braces. I'm sure someone else will help there. Good luck and I hope it works out for you!! > > > <Perhaps the problem wasn't the infraction but too > much Pep!! > > > Interesting suggestion. What would that cause? Guest guest
Thanks . I think the corn tortillas may be a goer! I'm sure I have seen them one sale here somewhere. Today I increased him to 2 AFP and 1ZP, 1No-fenol with each GFCF meal, and a No-fenol in between lunch and tea. He had the best day for a long time! Speech was amazingly clear and he was sooo appropriate and focussed. I think the phenol issue is a big clue to some of the problems we have seen. Thanks again for your help. Guest guest
No doubt Dr. Brzezinski has helped people. He now charges $18,000.00 just to walk in the door for the initial treatment. The son of a friend is fundraising to go to his clinic very soon. mjh In a message dated 10/9/02 5:39:48 AM Eastern Daylight Time, writes: > There is a doctor is Houston who has used foods and > herbs , minerals , to cure cancer. Guest guest
What is the difference between spinal canal stenosis and neural foramina stenosis? I'm trying to get intelligent information together before I actually see the doctor next week. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated! Guest guest
... This is from http://www.spine-health.com: Major types of stenosis include: * Foraminal stenosis. As the nerve root is about to leave the canal through a side hole (lateral foramen), a bone spur (osteophyte) can press on the nerve root. This type of stenosis may also be called lateral spinal stenosis. This is by far the most common form of spinal stenosis. 72% of cases of foraminal stenosis occur at the lowest lumbar level, trapping the emerging nerve root (a major part of the sciatic nerve). * Central stenosis. A choking of the central canal, called central spinal stenosis in the lumbar (low back) area can compress the sack of the horse's tail (cauda equina, or cauda equine). Central spinal stenosis is more common at the second lowest lumbar spinal level and above and is largely caused by redundancy of a ligament (ligamentum flavum) which is associated with protecting the dura and arises from the inside part of the facet joint. * Far Lateral stenosis. After the nerve has left the spinal canal it can also be compressed on the outside of the spine from either a bony protrusion or disc bulge. If you're confused, you can see vertebral diagrams here: http://www.spine-inc.com/glossary/i/intervertebral-discs.html Regards, > > What is the difference between spinal canal stenosis and neural foramina > stenosis?
