First and foremost I don't have an accent I have an attitude.

Secondly, I'm not a " Fire Officer " I'm a Chief Fire Officer "

Thirdly, me gruff please never me.

Fourthly, I am very shy in expressing my opinions everyone knows this.

Lastly, your characterization of me as " professional, articulate, kind, and

welcoming " boarders on character assassination. I will sue!

Remember NEVER APOLOGIZE.

And, even though I'm sure you've mentioned it a thousand times, the northern

Medics in power. That's funny.

Seriously, speaking as a Basic and a Chief Officer one thing you SHOULD learn

when you are those two things is when you are dealing with the Patient if us the

Medic in charge of their CARE. Now there are times when a consideration other

than that is a priority like a HAZMAT scene or other thing like an active

shooter where the care is secondary to the scenes considerations bit that is

very rare. If none if the above like situations is in play more often than not

my Command function is to support the Medic's needs to support their Patient

care.

Sadly the focus is more often on the " I'm the Chief damn it " attitudes.

Re: EMS Conference

Lou - Thank you for the advice, and I hope to see you next year! You were

one person who thoroughly defied my expectations.

And, Mr. Grayson: Have I ever presented myself any other way? If anything,

you should've recognized me faster for my being a smart aleck...

Thom is perfectly correct.

Acceptable alternatives would be " Your Royal Paramedicness " or " O

Captain, My Captain. "

And don't forget to genuflect in my presence. ;)
