1st Annual Texas EMS Conference Bicycle Ride

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please read and forward as widely as you can

Jeff with the Austin/ County Medical Director's Office and I

have been discussing a bicycle ride during this years EMS Conference in

Austin and Jeff has taken the proverbial bull by the horns and has set

up an informal bicycle ride for this Saturday, November 20th at 0730.

Here are the details:

WHEN: Saturday, November 20, 2010. Meet at 0730, rolling at

0800.

WHERE: East side of Convention Center, where the vendors loading

dock is

ROUTES: 25, 35 and 45 mile routes

Jeff also has a SAG vehicle lined up for anyone that may have mechanical

issues. There is no support, so you will need to bring water/hydration,

nutrition and/or cash with you as you deem necessary. Jeff will also

have some of his fellow Austin cyclists joining him to help keep us all

together and aware of local hazards and points of interest.

This is not a race, but a chance to get some exercise, get to know

others in the EMS Community and have fun.

The weather is slated to be in the low sixty's at the start of the ride

and a forecast of a calm wind out of the south. No rain or other

inclement weather is in the forecast at this time.

If you want to ride, bring your bike, your gear AND A HELMET. Riders

without helmets WILL NOT be allowed to ride with us...after all, we need

to set the right example.
