Guest guest
Cindy IT Bands can be removed (I hope) I am waiting for a surgery date. I was told the ITB was a stabalizer but later my surgeon said although I will not have more mobility after the surgery ( I didn't expect to) that I should not lose mobility. I " m not really mobile now, but I did expect it to get worse. I will explain more about what my hip problem is if you would like but if you don't mind I would like to do it off list. It's not that I mind telling people because that is why we are all here to share, it's just that there is a lot of guessing on the dr's parts and some things are not 100%. I wish my pain was only an annoyance like you siad it is for some mine is definetly debilitating.
Guest guest
Hi , I also worry about the meds not working and having no where else to turn. The MScontin has brought Dylan down to a 7. That's the best of any so far. His pain Dr that we no longer see, had said that there is a new type of drug being worked on now. It will go to exactly where the pain is and not affect the rest of the body. He said the results will be tremendous for people that are now getting no or not enough relief. But the side affects are too great at this time, and they are still trying to perfect it. He said it was being made from some type of sea animal, a mussel I think. The Dr said he felt the medication could change the lives for chronic pain sufferers. We can only hope. For Dylan, we can only hope the worst is about over. He should be done growing now. Like so many kids, they are at their worst pain during growth spurts. Fingers crossed. His electric wheel chair will be delivered in about 15 minutes. Hope fully, with the meds, the chair, and the growth over, he can return to school in Sept and have some type of social life again. I would be interested about what is going on with your hip. Sometimes the Dr's best guess is all we have to work with. Especially when our bodies appear with a unique problem. Sometimes it seems worth taking a chance, to get relief. I'm sure your Dr's have thought it through and are trying the best option they can. I'll write you off list in a few days. I need to get Dylan dressed now, so he can try out his new chair.
