Guest guest
Well, I know my lungs are out, being a 23 year smoker. Does the cystic fibrosis cause problems with your heart, too? I dated a guy when I was like 15 that had CF (for a month or three) but I didn't know that much about it. Tina Yes. Guest guest
Actually, here in PA we can donate blood... if we insist... it just won't be used. Red Cross will dump the blood when they get back to the bank, though it's not because of the MS, but because of all the medications we take.. And I got that tidbit of info from the Red Cross when I called to schedule my donation during a blood drive, but while working (we'd have gotten paid for the time we were at the donation center, but they wanted us to try and see if we couldn't get some "close" approximation of time scheduling.. so we all weren't gone at the same time and for an extended period of time.. I guess it didn't really surprise me though, because I'd known from a previous donation that if I had been on antibiotics or anything in the past few weeks they wouldn't accept the donation either...HUGSTo: MSersLife Sent: Wednesday, July 20, 2011 10:03 PMSubject: Re: reply to Akiba's post No, we cannot ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -- (unknown)To: mserslife , wayofthewingedheart Date: Saturday, July 16, 2011, 3:51 PM Rob just told me Rita is signed up for another lung transplant, then he said what has to be the cruelest thing I have ever heard *anyone* say...he said "how many people have to die so my sister can live?". Guest guest
In the past I was told by the Blood Bank I couldn't donate blood. When my sister-in-law was waiting for a liver transplant I was told by the team that people with MS weren't allowed to be donors. Perhaps that has changed by now.
