Guest guest
I am also a equestrain person myself. I competed in the local rodeo circuit in Arizona until May of last year. The pain got too great and had a BHR put in by Dr DeSmet in June. I was back riding in Spetember and I am now back on the rodeo circuit with no pain at all. Life is great. Good luck. Guest guest
My case was borderline as far as getting an assurance from a doctor that I could get resurfaced. I had osteoarthritis of my left hip pretty bad, I probably waited too long. I talked to Dr. Mont in the east coast, he said it was 50-50 chance of getting resurfaced and he wouldn't know for sure until he openned me up. I didn't want to take the chance. I travelled to Belgium to talk to Dr Desmet after he looked at my xrays and he said that he felt that he could resurface my hip for sure. Plus everything I read he had alot of experience with difficult cases and he had done close to 700 BHR's by the time I scheduled mine. So I travelled back to Belgium about 6 weeks later to get the BHR. I tried to talk to Dr. Amstutz on several occasions but did not have any luck. I couldn't ride my horse for 3 months after the operation, but I started roping in the 4 month. I'm now practicing 3 times a week and going to at least one jackpot a week. So far so good.
