Guest guest
I think she's guilty as sin, but I DIDN'T think the prosecution had the evidence needed to prove it. I think if they'd given the jury another option besides " death " and " Jail forever " , the verdict would have been different. Also think the fact that her parents left the courtroom in such haste shows that THEY think (or KNOW) she did it, however that poor child died. There may not come justice in this world, but there will be in the next... Guest guest
I totally agree with you. Either she did it or she knows who did, and I'm NOT buying the defense's story that Caylee managed to put the removable ladder on the pool, and Casey and her father covered it up. I don't buy the sexual abuse of Casey, either. To me, when you make up stories like that - the empty chair defense (yes, it an actual term, usually used in liability lawsuits - we weren't liable, this other defendant who already settled was liable) it usually points to your guilt. And I agree, it is OJ all over again. I don't know who paid for her attorney (at one point Fox News was), but they certainly got their money's worth. It worries me. I think if Caylee would have been found sooner, they would have had enough evidence to find her guilty.Tina I am stunned. How could the jury acquit her???? It's the OJ Simpson trial all over again. Guest guest
At one point in time during the trial, I think it was two weeks or so ago, her parents essentially said they didn't believe she was innocent - they made a very fine distinction between innocent and not guilty - and they said they hoped the prosecution and the defense attorneys do their job so they could get to the bottom of it. And you're right. The prosecution didn't have enough evidence to move forward. I think Casey herself was the most damning evidence.I'm sorry, this case fires me up so bad. Long ago, after becoming a mother, I told my husband the only time I would support the death penalty was in the case of a parent killing a chile. I know in some circumstances - like Yates - it's not the proper thing to do - she was sick and delusional - but in other cases it's the most just, IMO. And I've never supported the death penalty in any other capacity. Tina I think she's guilty as sin, but I DIDN'T think the prosecution had the evidence needed to prove it. Guest guest
I still think Yates' husband should have been brought up on charges right along with her - at the very least " reckless endangerment " . He'd been told over and over that she should NOT have more children, she SHOULD have some medication, that the " quiverful-homeschool-barefoot-and-pregnant lifestyle HE wanted was far too stressful for HER (and therefore dangerous to the children left alone in her care!) (And I can 100% understand the weird things you think with post-partum. I didn't want to kill my babies, but I seriously seriously thought and even dreamed about killing my husband....) I think there are many many unexplained weirdnesses in the case, and a few disagreements with some items of law - for instance, I think if you state in court that " My Daddy and My Brother Molested Me And That's Why I Lie Like A Rug And Didn't Give A S**t That My Child Was Dead By Whatever Means " , you should have to prove it. I think Daddy and Brother should be able to sue both Casey and her defense team for slander. And Mom should be subject to perjury charges. Guest guest
I agree, Tracey. I think she did it, but unfortunately there just wasn't enough there to convict her. I think the jury knew she was guilty too, but the verdict had to be given based on the evidence and the prosecution just did not have that one key piece needed to convict.Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerrySender: MSersLife Date: Tue, 5 Jul 2011 14:40:05 -0600To: <MSersLife >ReplyTo: MSersLife Subject: RE: Casey NOT GUILTY! Guest guest
I think Yates husband and also her marathon of doctors should both be brought up on charges - she tried to get help, and help really never came for her.Yeah, I mean, how many people are now believing that about her brother and father? That kind of damage never goes away. And yeah, I think Cindy lied about having been the one doing those searches I still think Yates' husband should have been brought up on charges right along with her - at the very least " reckless endangerment " . Guest guest
I'm still in shock over the verdict. I've followed the case since the pseudo 'disappearance' of Caylee. I can't help but wonder if they had taken the death sentence off, would she have still got off? I think back to and something I've always been afraid to admit is that some part of me actually understood her and why she drove her kids into that water. That's not to say I don't think she deserved what she got ... just that I had that little bit of empathy for her. And Yates should have been prevented; how could her husband and others not see that she needed help. Reminds me of my ex; easier to say 'it'll be okay rather than having to deal with a problem'. So the defense ended the day celebrating and popping champagne corks and Casey will go on to be and get whatever Casey wants. Her family is destroyed but no matter, she'll be able to afford what she stole all these years ... hugs, Cait Casey NOT GUILTY! I am stunned. How could the jury acquit her???? It's the OJ Simpson trial all over again. Maybe you don't agree with me on this one?hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
