Actual DefinitionSerum is nothing but plasma, after excluding fibrinogen and other blood clotting factors. Fibrinogen is a type of protein, responsible for coagulation of blood, by converting itself into fibrin. Whereas plasma is defined as the medium of blood, to which blood cells (red blood cells and white blood cells) and other components are suspended

My test results

Hi, I had some blood work done last week to test for Celiac disease, and thankfully it came back negative. But my copper levels were way high. My Dr. is doing some research on why that may be. I have had slight elevations in my liver enzymes for years, but this is the first time that my copper was tested and came back high. Anyone knows what this might mean?

Thanks Cait, I figured it was part of the blood, but then the stuff I was reading also talked about urine. Not serum in the urine, but it was a little confusing to go back and forth trying to understand what tests they were talking about.
