" C+ " is short for the Medical Conserve Plus ® surface replacement device. This is one of the two surface replacement devices currently in trials in the US. It's also the one closest to final FDA approval (hopefully this summer). The other device in trials in the US is the Corin Cormet 2000 (affectionately known hereabouts as the " C2K " ). As for insurance, these devices are both classed as " investigational " by the FDA. Some insurers will cover tham and some will not. In my case, I got CIGNA to cover the the costs of the surgery, hospitalization, etc. I had to pay for the implants themselves ($6050 each). I considered this a bargain. Welcome to the group, !
